fork oil change

New member
finished chasing bad electrical connections and now am on my, I hope, final part of the full service to my new to me 95 K 75S, Fork oil change I drained both fork legs, right side reddish, clean oil, misjudged the speed with which fluid drains, so, was not able to capture it to measure quantity. Left leg, grayish, nasty oil. Let both sides drain for 20 minutes and measured only about 310cc out of left side. When refilling it, the book calls for 410cc per leg, if I do that I worry that it might be to much oil, blowing seals? Or could it be that it was just that low? 310CC ?

It is possible they were misfilled the previous time as there are 3 different fill specs for K75s depending upon year and model of forks. The 410cc spec for your forks is only listed in the appendix of the later edition Clymers manual (early editions make no reference to your Showa forks) with NO mention in the front suspension chapter other than the 320- 330cc for the standard suspension and 270-290cc for the Sport suspension (neither of which your bike has).

You mention that you have solved your electrical gremlins that you me tioned in your other thread. Would you please update your other thread so that we may all learn from your experience. Thanks.

Lee, I did update my other post. I simply pulled all connectors apart, cleaned the ones that needed to be cleaned, under the tank since I had it off, reconnected them and she now fires at the first push of the button. Not sure which connection was bad since I took them all apart and re connected them. Purrs like a kitten, ready to get the forks done and do some riding.

Karsten,

Sorry, I've been really distracted today and didn't see your update. Thanks and congratulations on getting it running. I'm sure you're going to enjoy the bike!:thumb
