Rustic Ride

I too will be riding Solo on the Fri.II ride.

Thanks

From lovely Paris, but not France!
Just a place in Ontario.

Probably 2-up for me as I hope my grandson is allowed to come with me. If not, I'll make good on any extra cost.

I'm not paying for anyone's lunch except my own so feel free to bring anyone you want.:kbasa

Ok... lunch is set. Charcoal Grill in Burlington is expecting a group between 25 and 30 on Friday, July 13, 2007 sometime between 12:30 and 1pm.

IF ANYONE NOT ON THE RIDE WISHES TO JOIN US FOR LUNCH LET ME KNOW, I'LL GET YOU DIRECTIONS AND I'LL CALL CHARCOAL GRILL AND ALERT THEM TO EXPECT MORE PEOPLE.

Jack

P.S. You Saturday folks are a smaller group so we can either get lunch there on Saturday or go elsewhere depending on what you want to do.

Just got off the phone with Rob Thompson, the big kahuna, at the State's Rustic Roads Program. FYI, he is somewhat concerned about how he will validate the photos. He will have a laptop available and a memory card reader (I think he said SD) so he will be in a position to view and validate at least some of the photos submitted on Friday. He did indicate that while he will have patches to distribute at the Rally he will not have the letter/certificate that goes along with the patch so you will have to provide your name and address. Lastly, on this topic, there must be a bike (ideally the same bike) in each photograph. What this means for our group rides is that a bike will be designated to be the picture bike and the group will all pose behind it... we will need to have a sign up sheet with names and addresses for the certificate.

More information to follow.

Jack

Thanks again for all of your hard work in putting this ride together and doing the leg work for the patch verification! Can't wait until the ride!:brad

Haven't visited this topic for a few days. Time to follow up.

So you have done this before. If I do it on my own another weekend and take my own pictures all I have to do is send them in, printed out to the following address?

thanks,
-steve

I have my patch, but I was part of a group ride (local HOG chapter - back when I was like BoxerGirl's less fortunate friend who rides a Harley :stick ) and the ride leader took care of the paperwork. But to answer your question, yes that seems to be the address to submit the photos. FYI, they don't keep the photos they'll be sending them back to you along with the patch and certificate.

Jack: Will be rider and pillion on Friday ride II. Thanks for all of your much appreciated efforts in putting this together.:thumb

Just to wet your appetite here is a shot of one of the Rustic Roads we will be travelling taken from the Rustic Road sign.

Must be nice to live in states with programs like this. Where I live we have a list of roads too. Drive here and you will get shot just because the thugs think it would be interesting to shoot someone off their bike.

If you like The Charcoal Grill, us "out of towners" will go along with your suggestion. :eat

Charcoal Grill is a small Wisconsin (really SE Wisconsin) chain with a varied menu (something for everyone) and the food is good. I'd really like to go to Fred's (known locally as The World's Best Hamburger) but they don't have the space or the parking for this big a group, Charcoal Grill does. Saturday's group being significantly smaller may get to experience Fred's.

If anyone who knows Western Racine County or Eastern Waukesha County has a different suggestion for a lunch stop I am all ears and will try to make it happen unless there is a compelling reason not to do so.
