Transmission Circlip location

Hello All,

I currently have my transmission part due to the Cir-clip not installed and damaging the output shaft bearings.
Can anyone tell the dimensions for the groove to install the clip.

I have an output shaft with no groove.
I have a shop that will add the groove but I need to locate it.
I know the bearing is 17mm wide so I assume the length is around there, but the exact location would be great along with the diameter and the groove width.

I just want this back together, while the weather is good.

Thanks DEK139

I have seen those pic.s

Thanks ,
I have seen the pic.s on different site ,
but I really need the real dimensions.
I am not sure about how much clearance between the bearing and clip is needed.
Also they need to know the diameter of the groove.
Thanks

I think most people who are in business to do this work - Oak, Cutter, Anton - tend to not give out the information. Even Matt Parkhouse in his Dec 2008 article on the subject didn't provide any details but said he'd send the shaft out to a machinist.

That said, Snowbum lists information on his web page about the clip and groove. Maybe that's enough to do the job...maybe.
