Touchup Paint

Kurt is right, it is hen's teeth. Add to the issue paint formulas have changed since 76, you bike has weathered and finding an exact touch up paint device gets tricky. Glasurite paint is still made, they were the original BMW paint company. Good luck, St.

See if there's a hobby shop nearby with all those wee bottles of Testors paint. You may have better luck getting a match for $6.95 than working from a paint code.

Similarly, I've had good luck with black nail polish for frame touch-ups and as I favor red bikes (push and moto) I can get a pretty good match from the nail polish counter. Bonus points if you do your cosmetics shopping in ATGATT.

Your bike was originally painted at the factory with Gasurit paint. 511 is Glasurit’s paint code for Havana Gold. Glasurit is now owned by BASF. Glasurit is BASF’s premium (read expensive) paint line. BASF has 4 or 5 paint lines. They have a cross reference mixing guide so they can mix an exact match to a Glasurit color in their other more economical lines. Many auto painters use BASF paints. You may want to try contacting BASF to confirm that Havana Gold can be mixed in one of their other lines and locate a paint shop to mix some up for you.

I’ll look into that. I don’t need to repaint but there are areas that are scratched and chipped from poor storage

Seems like a good wash and coats of wax should be helpful to maintain the paint work. We're not there to see what you see, but waxing can be good.

I’ve cleaned it with dry wash and applied some paint cleaner. It needs a good cutting treatment, conditioner and wax.
