The state of International shipping

Just an FYI, which I’m sure many of you already know. Had opportunity to quote a gentleman from England who was interested in purchasing a windshield. That windshield, in it’s appropriate sized box from the maker (Werks Quiet Ride - 7Ju) via UPS, would cost (cheapest mode), $649.00! That’s from Indiana as a three day delivery as UPS indicated there was no other option. Of course, that’s only 545 Pounds British Sterling, which to some may make it seem cheaper. As always, buy local - if you can.

On the other hand, I regularly receive shipments (clothing, parts, etc.) from the EU to Vancouver that cost me....$13.00 in shipping fees. Three, and sometimes two-day delivery.

Yes! Does seem the manufacture has a dis-dis-discounted rate …LOL! An example would be a Sargent seat from Florida to Indiana - $19.95. Consumer return from Indiana to Florida - $70.00. Helmet from Netherlands to Indiana - “Free”, from Indiana to Netherlands- $427.00 unless you get a manufacture’s return label for $27.00. Understand volume discount contracts and making shipping costs part of item cost however, there’s also a “screw” factor involved here. And when you pay to send it, be sure to buy their insurance cost to make sure they do their job and get it there. Never quite understood that money making carrier responsibility concept. RANT OFF
