Hi Guys and Gals.
The GS Giant 2016 rally "Back to the BIGinning" is approaching and It's time to get some details out there.

As you may have already guessed this years theme is Back to the BIGinning. That's right things have come full circle and we are returning to the area where it all started.

For those of you not in the know:

The rally consists of two parts over the course of the week:

  1. The Gypsy Tour - An adventure starting as you leave your driveway. The goal is to collect "GS BS points" by making adventure detours to weird or notable locations and posting them to the interwebs. There will be a score book to keep track of everything and events will be held at the Rally where the GS Giant will be declared.

  2. The MOA rally - Seminars, Rides, Events, and other activities galore! Plus a Bigger, Badderr, Epicerrr GS Giants Course to train and compete on (complete with bike wranglers that may or may not be wearing tutus)!

Where?

  • Camper's Paradise in Siegel, PA. Approximately 3 hours away from the MOA National Rally.
From this amazing location you will have access to Allegheny National Forest and all of the beautiful off road trails and twisty 2 lane you can handle.

Why?
  • Duh!! Bikes, Food, Beer, Live Music, and Free Stuff ... What more could you want?

GO BIG!
The GS Giant's Gypsy Tour
July 10-13, 2016, Sigel, Pennsylvania
July 14-17, 2016, Das Rally, Hamburg, New York

Join us as we go back to the BIGinning - back to our roots in the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania!

This is where the trail magic started, back in 2011 when seventy five people took a chance on a brand new event, showing up without knowing anyone in advance. By the end of the week, life-long friendships were formed and the GS Giants charter club was born.

So, you n00bs are wondering, "What's this all about?" I'll start by telling you what it's NOT about. It's not about being the best rider - no one should feel intimidated. Skill levels range from no off pavement experience to seasoned rock garden riders. This is about challenging yourself to become more comfortable getting off the beaten path with the help of fellow Giants to offer guidance, advice, or just pick you up, dust you off, and hand you a beer at the end of the day. And while we all have an affinity for dirt, our road warrior friends are also welcome and won't be disappointed with the scenic twisties that Pennsylvania has to offer

$120 per person gets you three days of primo camping, a daily catered breakfast, hearty dinners, and cold micro brews to fuel the tall tales at the end of the day. Not to mention swag and door prizes! As the Giants continue to grow, our door prize and swag offerings get better and better! In addition, we'll throw in a bunch of new best friends and the opportunity to catch up with some old ones. This is some of the best laughs that life has to offer!

The Gypsy Tour is simple: Riders will converge at various locations across the country riding together and arriving at our host facility in Sigel, Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 10th. Details on rendezvous points will be posted as they are available and we are always looking for riders willing to organize a group.

Ride in on your own or hook up with one of the various Gypsy Caravans. Take an adventure detour on the way to earn points towards prizes and the coveted title of The GS Giant, 2016. Most importantly, plan to be at Camper's Paradise on Sunday, July 10th, 2015 by 3pm for check in and a BIG Backyard BBQ.

Spend Monday and Tuesday, July 11th-12th exploring the Allegheny National Forest and Cook State Forest as well as the surrounding areas. Collect some GS BS points by visiting some of the unique sites that Pennsylvania has to offer. On Wednesday, we bid our hosts goodbye as we pack up and take an adventurous route to Hamburg, New York for Das Rally, hosted by the BMW MOA. At Das Rally, you will find a custom built GS Giant track for play and practice, the GS Giant competition and events for all skill levels, training options, adventure riding seminars, and much more GS fun in addition to all that the MOA has to offer.

Located in the Allegheny National Forest, Camper's Paradise in Sigel, PA is our host location for the Gypsy Tour. Premium tent camping is included in your registration fee however RV sites and cabins are available at their standard rates. Please visit their website and contact them directly to make a reservation. And be sure to tell them you are a GS Giant! www.campersparadise.net

The GS Giant's Gypsy Tour promises to be the biggest and best yet! Lately we see that the Giants are often imitated but never duplicated. Make a plan for the event that started all the madness! Find a Sharpie Marker and put this on your calendar! This is something you must see for yourself and we promise you the best event of the year!

So where do you sign up? Registration will begin on April 1st - and we're not foolin'! Go to the GS Giant's web page and click on the events tab. www.gsgiants.com

Lastly, we cannot do this event or any other without the help of our GS Giant volunteers. (and there are big BS points awarded for those who step up!) We need your help to make this a GIANT success. Please contact the event organizers to learn how you can help. Tracy Novacich, Chairperson (tracy@novacich.com) Mark Carrera, Co-Chair, (markcarrera@msn.com)

ONE MORE THING! If you've attended the GS GIANT event in the past, please post your comments below and tell everyone about your experience!

The Montana Giant event was triple first rate. Although I injured myself on the way to the rally, I had a great time watching others at the training sessions and getting to know some new friends. Bang for the buck was also excellent, as the food and most excellent home brew selections were awesome. I'll be at this years event even if my knee is still acting up by the time July rolls around.....

We're in!

Tammy and I plan to come. Last year was the best Gypsy Tour ever. The rides were awesome in the Beartooths! It was great to hang out with old friends and meet new ones. The clinics got Tammy on the dirt we and rode and rode in the back country. The food was gourmet and the beer lasted. See you in July.

GSG Gypsy Tour - Gettysburg

We are starting to line up various Gypsy Tours heading to the BIG party in the Allegheny National Forest. Make your plan to GO BIG and earn a few GSBS points on the way.

Sam Booth is a certified Gettysburg Battlefield expert and will be leading a Gypsy Tour combining GS riding with monumental civil war history. Beginning on Friday, July 8th, riders will camp at the Artillery Ridge Campground in Gettysburg, PA. Sam will escort a guided tour on Saturday followed by dinner at the historic Dobbin House. Then on Sunday, the group will head out on a 3-4 hour ride to rendezvous with the rest of the Giants at Campers Paradise for three more days of fun and frolicking.

Can't get there by Friday, the 8th? That's ok. Show up on Saturday. Trust me! Whether you're a history buff or not, you won't want to miss this. I've toured the battlefields with Sam and his knowledge is amazing! Message Sam for details and keep an eye out for future posts.

Details on the whole shebang are here: www.gsgiant.com

Bang for yer buck? Yeah, we got that!

Imagine an exciting day filled with all the things you love to do on two wheels. Now what could be better than returning to camp just in time for a cold brew and amazing dinner that you do not have to hunt down or prepare yourself? Hey, the Giants started a tradition early on with great food and craft brews. This year, the GSG - B2B (GS Giant's - Back to the BIGinning for those of you not following along) is no exception. How's this grab ya?

For the low price of $120 you will find prime tent space at a first class campground. Each morning, you'll start your day with a hearty homemade breakfast including fresh baked pastries! Return after a day of riding to find the taps flowing with local craft beer to fuel your tales of adventure. Follow this with some of the best food we've ever offered including pit beef and a pig roast sponsored by Michelin! Combine all that with some fantastic door prizes, free swag, the obligatory tee shirt and a few more suprises and you've got yourself a great value.

Trust the Queen, this is the best event of the year and you don't want to miss it. After six years of GSG events, we just keep getting better and better! Go register by clicking here and then on the events tab. www.GSGiants.com
