Tail light warning light

On Thursday I intstalled Motolights on my 2002 Roadster. It is a nonintegrated brake model. Everything was fine till this AM. When I started the bike this moring the brake light warning light stayed on. I checked things out and the tail light was fine and the brake light worked as it should. Started it up to come home after work and the warning light was still on. Got home and pulled up close to garage door and the Moto lights were on as they should be. I squeezed the front brake lever and the Motos went out and the warning light stayed on. I shut of the ignition and restarted. The tail light warning light went out. I restarted the bike several times and the light stayed out,and I can turn the Motos off and on with no problem. Everything is working fine now. Wondering if any of you electrical gurus have run into this or have an opinion as to why this malfunction occured.I tapped into the tail light wiring as Moto Light suggested ,to power the relay from a switched power source. Could this be the problem? How about a grounding problem? As I have stated everything is working fine now, but for how long?

Fixed

I got the Moto lights working ,finally. I should have listened to my SO and callede Motolights immediately. Called Motolights yesterday. Talked to a man about problem{sorry ,I don't remember name} . He was extremely helpful, great attitude. We had a great conversation about the lights and BMW's in general. Great outfit to do business with.
Problem was that by powering the relay from the taillight the extra load gave the computer and error signal and it thought the tail light was burned out. Changed the lead to the lisence plate light and all is well.
Thanks Moto
