SOLD TO AUCTION Seeking advice (‘01 R1150RT)

Won’t really help you much. The only way to get access is to remove the starter. By then, you can just look in there unassisted.
My post-sold thoughts. I have been very unlucky with used BMW motorcycle purchase. 2/2 failed at the Shaft. So don’t try to sell me (venting to the world, not anyone of US in particular; please do not take it personally!) that Shaft motorcycles are maintenance free (on that component). If I ever buy another BMW with a shaft it would be one covered by the SB to replace for free every 36,000 miles (58,000 km).
