Salty Fog Riders Rally 2015: A Final Ride Report

What's more impressive is Mary can take you for a stroll through the cemetery by the Church and show you generations of her family.

It must feel wonderful to have that connectedness and clear sense of belonging. I don't have that at all and I somewhat envy those proud to be part of that thread. Lots of stories in such a tiny place. BTW Harry, Larry, as in Larry's River, was an Irish moose hunter in the early 1800's. His camp is said to have been near our house next to the river. :thumb

I don't know if your group sells those shirts, but if you do, I would take one in a heart beat. She did a fantastic job of capturing that bike in vivid colors....

We'll check to see what we have left. If we had enough interested folks we would do another run with requested sizing. Will get back to you with info on what's available. I suggest that you send an email to saltyfogriders@gmail.com and I can get a PM back to you. We will also recheck what our printer would call a minimum order. I think that it's 20 but, as you likely know, the bigger the order; the lower the price. Glad that you like the shirt. That bike is the 1973 75/5 that Mary and I rode for seven weeks, 12,000 miles around U.S. in 2001. Ya, she did a fantastic job! Chat later!

Anyone else interested? - Bob

Thank you, Bob and Mary

...for all you have done, and special thanks to all of the lovely people I've met on the 5 trips I've made to Larry's River since 2007. everything about it was special and fulfilling on every single trip. Sadly, I fear my riding days are over, as I have not been on the bike in 18 months, although I am very reluctant to admit the reality of this and especially reluctant to sell the Vstrom! I am not renewing any motorcycle group membership or magazine subscription as they expire. (My BMWMOA membership lapsed on Dec. 31). My new found avocation is playing guitar again after a 40 year lapse, I have an excellent teacher! And to Bob and Mary, I will see you both again, even if it's on 4 wheels. You are both truly special people, as is everyone else I've shared a few days with in NS since 2007.

And thank you Tom for being an integral and supportive part of those early days in particular! It has been a wonderful little adventure (and venture) and a special opportunity for us to connect with riders interested in seeing/experiencing our part of the world. Enjoy your newly rejuvenated adventure with music and we will be sure to meet up again in some capacity. Thanks for the kind words Tom. - Bob

Tom,

Very best wishes to one of the early Rounders. Wishing you much happiness and fulfillment in the future.

My only disappointment is felt towards the members of the MOA who did not have the opportunity to experience such a great and innovative rally, complete with wonderful hosts, fine food.......................... and of course a cast of very interesting riding companions.

Alas that would be me for sure......the rally once found out about but one that could never find its way into my timetable
