Replacing snowflake wheels to spoked wheels...

I'm going to put spoked wheels on my 1979 R80, but i wonder what years will fit? I have a front wheel from a 1976 R60 but havent tried to see if it will work or not. Anyone have any insight?

If you really want to do it, get wire wheels from a /7 that has the same brake setup. i.e. drums or disk. Those will definitely fit with the least amount of issues.

Yeah, the front wheel I bought is a single disk like my current snowflake. I'm looking at wheels from 1975 and up...I know they had a smaller axle on some earlier models.

Do yourself a favor and be sure the spindle diameter is the same.
I don't remember exactly when it was changed,
but the conversion would be a hassle.

Provided that ÔÇô you'll be good to go, just a bolt-on swap.

I swapped the spokes on my '78 /7 for snowflakes. Bolt on. Other direction should do the same.

I want to do this, but have Lesters. Did you buy new or used?
New they list for many $.
Wonder how much my Lesters are worth?
So I guess what I'm wondering is what you said, just confirming....direct swap...right?

I believe '74 was smaller and '75 the larger dia axle.

And you should be careful of the changeover from ATE disks to Brembo which I think started in 1979, but carried on to 1981 on some models.
