PIAA Cross Country HID

New member
I have a 2007 R1200GS and recently acquired a set of the new PIAA Cross Country HID Lights. I already have a Centech AP1 Fuse Pannel in place. Has anyone installed a set of these lights? I'm interested in where you may have connected the "switch power lead". The instructions suggest this lead should be connected to the high beam power lead. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Will

Problem Solved

I talked to the kind folks at Cyclegadhets.com. They recommended the switched power lead be connected to the power lead going to the terminal located under the tool compartment tray. There are only two wires going in and only one under power. This allows for the use of the lights with either low beam or high beam. It made the installation rather simple and only took a few minutes after discovering this option. Following PIAA's recommendations would have required accessing the wiring harness directly behind the instrument panel, which would have been much more difficult as well as time consuming, and then allowing the use of the Cross County Lights only when the high Beams are on. I'll photograph the installation as soon as I get a chance.

May I ask what you paid for the CC HID's? My new BMW dealer has given me a number but I am curious if I could source them elsewhere for less.
I have heard but not seen that these HID's are like looking into the sun, true?
And yes, show us some pictures!
