Have a 97 rt 1100 with 97000'miles and I'd like to see if there's something we can add to help in quieting down the shifting ,or is this just normal for a boxer engine,,first seems the noisiest than gets better up the gears. Accasionally it misses 2 new gear .

I use a moly additive - Guard Dog Moly no longer available. Try Dow Corning Gear Guard from a bearing supply house or a Moly Kote gear oil additive.

Motul 80w90 gear oil with moly available from Amazon for about 20 bucks/liter. Quieted the trans on my '93 R1100RS and made shifting smoother. I'll never use anything else also use it in final drive.
