Hi guys. I have been a member of BMW CCA since 2014, and I just joined BMW MOA yesterday. This is my first post on this forum.

I live in the Houston metro area, and I don't have a motorcycle yet. I have stayed away from them since 2012, but the motorcycle virus has always been there. I am looking to get a 2025 K1600 GTL, so if anyone around knows a good sales guy willing to make a deal, please help. It can be from any part of the States, as long as I am getting a good deal, I am in.

Right now, I am in the process of buying my riding gear. Back in the day, when I was riding, I always did so in full riding gear.

That particular BMW is in abundance as I understand it. Shop for a used GTL at dealerships across the country or very near you; U just might find a particularly good buy! Some folks turn in their used GTLs Very Early, which could help your Bottom Line... That’s how I acquired my K16GT many years ago that I use to pull our Timeout camper all over the US...
That said, I’m sure you’ll settle on a suitable Big Beemer to support your need for speed! I got a speeding ticket just headed home from my vehicle registration in MD - so watch out.

Welcome CiprianS! Best of luck on your search for the K1600GT. Those look to be awesome bikes. Hopefully, you will post some pictures upon acquisition.
 
Welcome from the capital district of New York State. Best luck in your search for a new K/GTL. You might try just emailing your specs to a number of dealerships to expedite your shopping time. Also, check the MAX BMW dealerships here in the NY and New England. They're usually very competitive in their pricing.

I agree with this. I see no significant difference between dealers in Texas. New prices are set. You may get $1500 off if you qualify (military, first responder, cash payment, etc.). Look at Houston, San Antonio, and Austin dealerships.

Look for gently used though dealerships, Cycle Trader, Market Place, web search, etc. Many people get a big bike only to scare themselves and get rid of it at a significant loss. Your gain.

I bought my 2025 R1300 GSA from BMW Motorcycles of San Antonio. Make sure you get receipts for any extras in writing. Some of my order was fouled up.

Hey guys, thank you for your replies and your warm welcome. I am not looking for a lot of stuff on the K1600 GTL, just to be new with 6-20 miles on it and the Premium Package. And, I don't want the 719 Option for the color since I don't like that brown upholstery at all. I would prefer a blue colored bike, but I can also live with a black one.

I am waiting to hear back from some dealerships in the Texas area, but it seems that we don't click in our interactions. :)

I will contact the two dealers mentioned above from New York and New England; there is no rush in getting the bike.

Right now, I am looking at some riding gear, and I was looking at the following suit and boots.

Too bad about the Texas area dealers, but I can't say that I disagree based on my interaction with them.

After doing some research on riding apparel, I went with KLIM Induction jacket and pants. Every bit as good (if not better) than the BMW branded stuff. The airflow you get from the Induction line is what you will need in the Houston area at least 9 months out of the year, and maybe year round. I have not had mine through the winter yet. I prefer separates vs a suit. It is hot in Houston so our rides begin very early and end up at some nice spot for breakfast/brunch. Take off the jacket and go on in.

For boots, I went with the German made Daytona Road Star Pro GTX. Expensive, but they will be the last pair of boots you will ever need. They run about a half size large, but the quality, fit and feel are phenomenal.

I have two Schuberth C5 helmets with Schuberth SC Edge com systems. Very pleased with both. I may however, pick up an S3 as the weather cools off this fall. It is a lighter and slightly quieter helmet.

All this based on 52 years of riding. I bought my first bike when I was 14. You can do that math :)

I have two Shoei X-SPR Pro helmets (the European version of the X-Fifteen, which is better and lighter) and have also ordered some BMW gloves (BMW Unisex Tenda 2 in 1 GTX Gloves), which are supposed to arrive this week. Besides, I also ordered the Sidi Rex Air boots. I was oscillating between the Sidi Performer Gore boots, which I put above, and these sports ones, which are ventilated, and I opted for the sports ones. I just hope that the boots won't look awkward on a touring bike.

I guess at this time, the only ones missing are the bike and the suit (BMW PacePro Suit). I am waiting to hear back from a dealership where I inquired about a suit and also an Akrapovic exhaust as a package with the bike.
 
Hey guys, I got my bike today. I will be getting it home probably on Saturday.

My first BMW bike: 2026 R1300 RT

Long short story. I had a 2008 Yamaha R6 in Europe until 2012. Since then, I haven't had a bike anymore, but the virus was still there. So, after shopping around for a 2025 K1600 GTL, I switched gears and started looking for a 2026 R1300 RT. It was just under my nose in Houston, waiting for me...
