I have an old navigator IV GPS I would like to put in use again on my bike, problem is I lost the battery door. Do you know anyway around this problem. When I connect the device a message comes up asking me to put the battery door.
Garmin puts a small magnet near the fixing screw in the battery door to be able to sense if the door has been installed. It should be easy to find the sweet spot by sliding a small rare earth magnet around face up and face down on the back side of the Garmin where the battery door attaches. Then you can use duct tape to weather proof the back.
