MAX BMW..... And now KTM!

I just received, in the typical classy style of MAX BMW, news via the MAX email blast, of them opening up a KTM dealership.
I have always enjoyed the (limited) experience of a trip to the New Hampshire store and the ease and accuracy of ordering BMW parts including tires from MAX. I have also REALLY enjoyed the story of how KTM evolved. I included a link to KTM's history in a previous post-

I was able to ride one of the first Pentons that graced our area. It was a bit crude, the transmission was a bit clunky, but you could tell they were on the way to something big- KTM.
I have never owned a KTM though I tried once. I couldn't find one of the dual sport models. I still have an interest in well assembled motorcycles and would probably have a 2-stroke KTM dirt bike..... If there was a place (convenient) to ride here in MA.
Anyway, I wish MAX well in this new endeavor.

Saw that this morning as well, thought that was a great addition, my two favorite bikes "under one roof". Wish they were closer to me though. And the little hidden voice says "now they need to do MAX Honda CT90". But KTM is a pretty nice bikeIMG_7977.jpeg.

Here is a post on one of my favorite bikes from the past… and my youth. :gerg

Having MAX as a KTM dealer should be a good thing in terms of parts availability and overnight shipping capability. The parts issue is one that has caused hesitancy amongst potential buyers.

Best,

Will KTM be around much longer? Over 200,000 unsold bikes!! A years worth of production. And they either have been are will need to be made Euro 5 compliant.

I buy my KTM parts from Munn Racing or KTM World. Both pretty good for parts for older KTM's.

Why can't they sell them in the US? TFT speedos are easy to change from Km's to MPH. No Euro 5 to worry about.

There reputation for poor quality and lack of warranty support have left most in the US with a bad taste in their mouths. That's why they've got the bikes left over in the first place. In the article I read that was mentioned as an out but they would have to slash prices, really slash prices!

They had a bad batch of camshafts and did not respond to the issue in a good way which turned a lot of people away from them. They have since tried to reverse some of that damage offering 4 year warranties etc.
