Luftmeister Auxiliary Tank Setup
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of these tanks? Since its all gravity fed, the line must flow downhill. I'm wondering about venting with such a small aluminum tank. I just bought a set, they hold about a gallon each. Looks like they get in the way of the passenger foot pegs...not that I trust myself with someone else's life or anything...
The tanks are vented, and have ExploSafe (looks like tinsel for a Xmas tree) in them as anti-slosh, etc. I did a schematic (ok a diagram) based on Snowbum's explanation ( http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/luftmstrtanks.htm ), but moved the vented lines from the tanks to in front of an inline filter (in case the tinsel escapes).
I need to replace the petcocks on both of them, because I can't get them apart to rebuild.
