LED instrument bulbs

THOMASPIN

Airhead
Why I converted:

I got mine here. Incandescent stock at top, LED below - cool white version.

These are polarity sensitive, so don't try using them in the turn signal indicator - only one direction will work. And if they do not work elsewhere despite showing continuity, reverse them in their socket(s).

I know ... this is one of the projects that I have never finished. On my RS, only have left turn indicated (as stated above), that is a yellow LED under a green lens which don't work well, high beam is blue LED under a blue lens which works TOO good, all this makes the clock and voltmeter incandescents look limp, which needs to be addressed as LED too.

very nice, wish I went with those when I replaced the bulbs this past winter.

Yes, very nice. Thanks for the link.

In total darkness, I have no problem with the normal bulbs. But, I have trouble seeing the instruments in dim light. The instrument lights are "washed out" by streetlamps or other light sources, making it tough to see the instruments. With the LED, the instruments will really stand out.

Do you know if LEDs available for the clock and voltmeter as well?

High Beam Light?

Has anyone replaced the high beam light bulb, the type on the tach face? My incandescent is so dim I barely notice it at night and not at all during the day.
