Just introducing myself

On June 2nd 2015, I purchased my first BMW. A 2001 BMW R1100RL. I so far love this bike and hope to put on lots of mileage as the years go by. I am 50 years old and teach Korean Martial Arts (Cheezic Tang Soo Do). I do seem to have a problem with the bike. Every time I get to the bottom of my road I live on the BMW won't let me turn up it and just keeps pulling straight forward to nowhere. Oh well there could be bigger problems in life. Perhaps I will see some of you on the road.

Congratulations on the purchase and becoming a member.

I think that vintage of 1100R's are great looking bikes, and sort of timeless. 100 years from now it will still be a cool looking bike. Enjoy it and be safe.

New Rider thanks

Thanks everyone for being there. The BMW crowd seems to be a great bunch of people. I also have a 1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador that I am rebuilding now since I hit a car with it about 9 years ago. Keep saying next year it will be done but the work never seems to stop. Ground up re-build. Motor is re-built and changed from a 750 to about an 850 CC engine. The big boar kit says it is great if you want to plow a field with it. sounds fun. Can't wait till it is finished and sitting next to my 2001 BMW R1100RL.

Welcome Sabunim

Thanks Willhawk

Hey thanks (komap Sum Ni Da) for the warm welcome. It is always great to here from fellow Martial Artist. Just so you know, so far I am not Sa Bum Nim, my title is Kyo Sa Nim, 2nd Dan Black Belt Instructor. At the end of the year I test for my 3rd Dan then 4 more years till my Sa Bum Nim (4th Dan). I have a little story for you. 9 years ago I hit a car with my 1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador and messed up my back and neck pretty good. I was 41 years old at the time. 7 Months physical therapy was not helping so I tried Cheezic Tang Soo Do Karate with my Roommate who was a 6th Dan at the time. 2 Weeks later my back started to loosen up and the rest is history, can't stop training or riding now. As for riding I am rebuilding the Guzzi now and love riding my new Beemer. Let me know where you live and perhaps we can ride and train together sometime. I am in Redding Ct. My email is matt@hatcitymartialarts.com get in touch with me sometime.
Tang Soo
P.S. who do you train with?
