Hyper lights

I have a 2019 R1250RT . And I have the std top box on the back. Over the winter I added a LED stop light strip with 18 led's where the oem stop light would normally go in the top of the lid. I was able the tap into the wire harness in the lid of the top box to power the strip of LED's. And everything is working as intended. I don't know how much power the led strip is drawing when used. My guess is 0.25 amps. My question is I would like to add some hyper lites down by the license plate too. I know they draw a max of 0.25 Amp. And I can find the wires that power the brake light in the lid of the top box from the main wire harness for the top box plug. Does any one know if I will be exceeding the power source from the bike's can bus system if I add the additional hyper brake lites ?

My bike is also a 2019 R1250RT. I have installed the Clearwater Ericas PLUS the Billie brake light. I know I've read something about the maximum amps allowed on the brake light circuit. Will check when I get home. A call to Hyperlites, 517-610-2286, might be in order; bet they could help you in an instant.

Hyper lites only use the brake light as a trigger to control the brake light. The power to the lights is supplied by another 12 volt source usually the rear accessory plug power and ground is used. If you want your top box to flash like the hyper lites use them to power your top box. That’s what I did and I am sure that works without throwing a CanBus fault. It will however cause you lights to stay on 15 seconds after the bike is turned off using the accessory circuit.
