69.8*. I usually feel the arrival of August as “only one more month of real heat”. Looks like some real heat and humidity is ramping up to start off the month.
The weather has been good for my blueberry 🫐 bushes.

High of only 70 here, but really smoky locally from three lightning-caused fires South of Devils Tower National Monument.
We are also getting some smoke from the PNW fires.
 
57.7* and a really nice morning. Dew points are down into the 50’s so the air is a lot better. The humidity was so tough yesterday that opening the freezer created a kind of fog. Yesterday also resulted in 1-1/8” of rain.
Doors and windows open. 👍

Cool, cloudy and smokey.
 
Low was 47f at 0500 this morning. My buddy and I rode 260 miles around the local area today before the Sturgis hordes arrive in mass; there are plenty here already. High temp of the afternoon was 71f with a stiff but quite variable breeze. May be my last ride until after the idiots leave. Why do most HD motorcycles have inoperative turn signals? Inquiring minds want to know.
 
The lightning and thunder kept waking me last night. When I would look at the radar it kept showing a series of small red cell.
Got 4 inches of rain and the radio station 3 miles SW of us had 4.6 inches.
I didn't hear any wind and no branches laying in the yard. I was surprised the yard still feels hard when walking across it.
It's 65F now. 70% chance of new rain, 1/4 to 1/2 inch possible.
High will be 73.
Tomorrow will start with fog, then sunny and high of 81.
