HJC RPHA 91 Helmets

Perhaps HJC helmets are not as popular within BMW community, IDK. I own a Shoei Neotec2 modular helmet and an Arai Contour-X fullface helmet, but would like another modular helmet. Considering the HJC RPHA 91 either in standard or carbon. I have read or watched all the reviews. Anybody on the forum gone down wearing one and had the helmet messed up, but their brain case and brain stayed intact?

My wife has one that she purchased this year to replace her older HJC helmet. For her it came down to the fit, she had tried the Shoei and the Schuberth as well as a few others and the HJC was the best fit for her. It seems to be a fine helmet and she has been happy with it other than we had to work on the cheek pads a bit to remove some of the padding as it was pressing on her ears. Once we had that sorted she has been happy with it.

I have a HJC RPHA 91 modular helmet. I've only worn it for an hour or so but decided I'd purchased the wrong size. So I can't give you a full review. This new helmet was an upgrade from my RPHA 90 modular helmet, which I've been wearing for a couple of years now. I also have a HJC RPHA model 70 full face helmet. I've found the features, quality, finish and fit (when correct) to be equal to the Shoei or Arai helmets I've owned, yet for a much lower cost.

My RPHA 91 is for sale in the Marketplace on this website.

Thanks. My head diameter is 56cm, so I wear small. Do you know your head diameter and can say whether the XLwas to loose or too tight? Whether it ran smallor large relative to claimed fit size?

smswy,

The XL was a little too loose, causing the helmet to sit lower on my forehead, closer to my eyebrows, causing pressure and discomfort after only 15-20 minutes. My head diameter is 59-60cm. Kinda weird because my other two HJC helmets are both XL's. However I have lost some weight since purchasing my older helmets.

My recommendation is to measure your head and order your helmet based on your heads circumference. When I sell this XL I'll buy a size L to replace it.

I "downgraded" from a Schuberth C3 Pro to a HJC I90.

The HJC mechanisms work much better and is much less expensive. I also went through several versions of Nolan helmets.

HJC has been the best of the bunch.
