High miles Hex'rs anyone;

Oil is the life blood of our steeds. I run Mobil 1, and have only had my bike tested once. At 6500 miles it would have been good for a while longer. I change my oil every 6000 and Final drive every 12000 miles. Yes I know that is excessive on FD but with BMWs FD history I feel better changing that 180 ml and checking the fuzz on my sensor I want to see my bike through a quarter million miles.

Perhaps not excessive. I believe BMW currently specs changes every 12K.

I stand to be corrected, but I seem to recall the current schedule is every 12,000 miles (as you said), or once a year.

Better late than never...

53,000 miles on my 07' R1200R.
I have pretty much ran it into the ground, but can't seem to break it no matter what I throw at it...
I mostly do most of the maintenance mostly on time myself, being late or early now and then with things.

Rock solid, not ONE issue.

Now if only my 8GS was nearly as dependable...
