High Mileage Oil for Oilheads?

My 2001 R1150GS just went over 99,000 miles; I've had it since 56,700. I expect to be around 110,000 by December 31.

I've been using Mobile1 15W50 every 6,000 miles. I have seen some Mobile1 high-mileage oils. Would my bike's engine benefit from a different oil?

On the same line, is there a high-mileage gear oil for the trans/FD?

Thanks!

My personal opinion is that "high mileage" oil is more marketing than substance. And 100K is not huge mileage for an Oilhead. Unless it is burning a lot of oil and/or smoking a lot my thought is don't bother.
It does not smoke and uses no oil. Unlike the R1100RT that I had. I had to add oil between changes.

Why change what's been working for you? Stay with what you've got.

Now they have a bunch of different "GTX"'es.... older bikes should look at the "Classic" version.

my 2005 R 1200 GS has 218,xxx miles, been running Castrol part synthetic since about 40,000, 10-40 winter, 20-50 summer, no complaints, no smoke.

...don't get involved...it's like to loc-tite or not to loc-tite?...when do you lube your splines?....don't do it, don't say anything....

Liqui Moly Motorbike 4T Synth SAE 10W-50 Street Race ... ;)

I had my '04 RT since new when I sold it last spring to get a new RT. After break-in, I switched to Amsoil 20w50 and ran that consistently up to 115k. Zero oil usage between 6k changes. Use what you're using and just keep riding. Don't overthink it.
