Hi from northeast Alabama

New member
Been riding for close to 50 years. Never owned a BMW, Rode a K100 once. Decided to buy a blast from the past motorcycle and ended up with this. 1979 R100T with S fairing and 52K miles. It had a Corbin seat and factory luggage on it which I took off. I have a Tiger 900 if I want to travel long distance. Some scratches and such bit it’s original and very clean.

Welcome Aboard, MrFixIt, on your splendid vintage Beemer! Nice find; hope it runs like it looks...
Maybe you’ll show up “sometime" for one of my “2nd Saturday Rides-2-Eat,” as frequently as whenever we can arrange a meet-up at least once a month [hence 14June @ ~1100 at the Shoal’s Shack in St Florian this month]. Our contingent will depart the Blue Plate Cafe on Governor’s Drive in HSV right after the NAVMC regular vintage breakfast ~0830.

The Mrs is always trying to reach out and involve interested Alabama Airheads in her semi-annual activities. She complained about the lack of communication from the previous airmarshal, and thus she inadvertently volunteered to become the newest AL airmarshal. We’ll be camping and visiting with other Airheads up in Lebanon, TN in just two weeks...

FYI, they’ll let you attend the MOA International Rally even it you’re on a Triumph Tiger... Then you can meet & greet the whole National Airhead contingent talking airhead maintenance and eating some airhead custom cooking. Might even procure a new Airhead tee-shirt...

I was just about to join ABC when I read the club canon and it said I have to like to camp. I do not. I will sleep in a tent when there is no alternative but unless you are deep in the wilderness, there is always an alternative and my credit card takes up way less space on my bike. I could definitely see myself showing up at an eat and greet.
