HELP Changing sprocket size on 2009 G650gs

old thread alright... Conjecture re post # 14 - perhaps with an evenly divisible tooth count, every few rotations, the same links line up into the same dips in the sprocket, but if this mating is random, chain and sprocket wear is more evenly distributed over the length of the chain and the sprocket's root (bottom) diameter and teeth?

side note - Chains and sprockets last longer if swapped to a larger tooth count (due to larger rotational radius)..
