Hello MOA from Maryland

Greetings to everyone. I just signed up upon acquiring my latest ride, a 2012 R1200 Rt in Midnite Blue Metallic. She has 40k miles and a complete service history. My last bike was a 2011 GS which I used mostly for commuting to work and some long solo trips in my neighbor states of Pa and WVa. I'm looking forward to adding some farkles and putting some miles down once it stops raining. Cheers.low res day 1.jpg

Hola JR from former residents of Fort Wash-MD!
“The Sun’ll Come Out Tomorrow” maybe so... And I’d be willing to bet big bucks that there will be rain in the area when it’s time for the Square Route Rally at Camp Westmar ...

Enjoy that splendid RT as it’s meant to be employed - take some long rides in 2025 like to Lebanon TN in June.

Lastly, might I suggest some very sparkly farkles called Skeen Lights. They come in various levels of complexity, but they are designed to capture the eyes of Distracted Motorists! They just might save U from a head-on collision... :nod They’re also pretty easy to mount by yourself - I have ‘em on both of my BMWs

Key West is a Long Ride from MD, and going near the Homestead/Miami area is just awful.
Have Fun though - go down there with a riding buddy to enjoy your destination.
We were visiting a swapped time-share for a week on Marathon Island, so Key West was a short jaunt on 30Sep2019.
That said, Kew West is now an overpriced tourist trap, but If’n it’s now at the Top of your Bucket List... :deal

Hey kbasa, we are also fans of the human powered 2 wheelers. Awhile back I bought a nice titanium 7 road bike from a guy in your state. Loved it. Now my brother is too! Must be something about 2 wheels. Thank you Orville and Wilbur.

HSV-Phil, I have read about the Square Route Rally and hope to be there. I will have a 10 day window for riding in June and am considering heading to Tenn to visit family and see what a MOA rally is about. Great to be an MOA member.

Mike we were just in your state last month to see Crew 10 take off from the cape. Glad to see those guys back home. Ever ride to Key West to get the "southern most point in the US" photo? Tempting I think.

Thanks all!

Welcome from New Jersey! We had a sailboat in Cambridge, MD (now on the hard in Delaware City) -- Cambridge is still a favorite place. Decided the best route on a motorcycle is very definitely NOT I-476, I-95, 1/13, 301, but rather via the Cape May-Lewes ferry and then to Cambridge. Takes a bit longer, though, with a recommended night at a beach motel in Cape May. Congrats on the bike -- looks great.

Like looking at an old friend....enjoy that 2012 and welcome from Mid-State Pennsylvania.

See my addendum just above. We’ve now ridden BMWs in all 50 states, so we speak from experience.
