Hello from southern Arizona!

Hi everyone! New member, new owner (last night) of a 2024 BMW R 1250 RS in the white/blue/red (Style Sport?) color way. UNREAL bike. Rode her home about 140 miles from Scottsdale, AZ in the cooler early evening and it was bliss. Previously owned for ~ 1200 miles but came with the OEM white panniers, OEM Option 719 wheels, Givi windscreen and a Helite Bar riser. I am *of course* looking for stuff to add to her. The ride itself was amazing and confirmed the test ride & then some. Effortless speed, nimble handling belying its weight and great brakes to go with supple ride. Brought her home in ECO and Adaptive Ride, waiting to really try the harder Dynamic Pro later. Owner of 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901 and 2024 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT as well, and this is the class of the group. Hope to be interacting soon, as I could use some knowledge about aftermarket engine guars, pedals, etc.

Welcome! My riding buddy and another RS owner has a '23 RWB RS. It's really nice looking. There's no shortage of farkles you can empty your wallet buying. Clearwater or Denali have some great choices. Get some riding in before the too hot to ride AZ summer weather sets in! Nice ride (y)

Great riding in Southern Arizona. I lived (and rode) there for a few years between 1988 and 1992. I get back often and always enjoy it. You'll eat up the miles with that RS. What part of S. AZ do you hail from?

Hallo myspark in S-AZ, from two Sun Devils in N-AL.
Welcome to the BMW MOA and me thinks you’ll meld well with the new(ish) R1250!
Do find & support your nearest MOA Chartered Club.
MAYBE: SE-AZ club?

Don’t imagine you’ll be attending this year’s National MOA Rally, but we’ll be there.... :rolleyes

Start out by exploring the MOA’s website...

Happy Trails whenever U can on your splendid new RS!

Welcome myspark! I can almost visualize your bike's awesomeness! Hope you can post a pic or two.
I have traditionally waited until the bike is "done" to post pics; but I get the feeling that'll be a while with this one. Grateful for the Helite Riser but already ordered the Wunderlich Vario Evo (?) Foot Peg system...got an extra set of the rubber covers and got both the 30mm and 50mm lower sizes, to allow experimentation. I'll try to take some pics in the nice weather this weekend and get them posted - I think she's very photogenic!

I moved to Mesa in '91 after I got All Blowed Up in the Army, and bounced around the Valley in Tempe etc. Met my wife there and we moved down here to Sahuarita in 2007. I grew up in SoCal and of course moved quite a bit in the Army; I never thought I would settle somewhere boring and quiet, but I love it. Light Discipline here due to the observatories means I get to see the stars. I ride the 83 to the 82 incessantly, never tiring of the Sonoita area to look at & going through Tombstone to Bisbee. The 82 through Patagonia in the opposite direction is nice, too, and I have loved dashing through Arrivaca (sp?). Looking forward to seeing how the RS does there!

I just noticed that the attempt(s) to Reply have added on to the bottom/end of this thread, and I'm sorry if I'm eating bandwidth. I want to say I really appreciate everyone's well wishes. I'm going to have a *lot* of questions about protection for my bike, adding lights, saddles, etc and I hope that you all will be as warm and patient with me as you've been here.
