Hello from SC

New member
Darren here, member since 2019 but not active on the forums.

I ride a 2019 R1250GSA (Kalamata... the BEST color) and my wife rides a 2019 F750GS. We are in the Camden, SC area and are always looking for good rides. We are members of our local chapter of CVMA (Combat Vets Motorcycle Association) and try to stay active with them. However, we are the only NON Harley Riders in the group, and some of the things they get into are not my style. I don't hang out with MC's... not against it, jut not our thing.

We want to get more active with the MOA and attend some Rallies (Rallys?).

I'm retired Army... 1987-2023 and now work as a Contractor. Keeps me busy!

Just wanted to say hello. Looking forward to reading more in the forums!

Welcome. I'm up in Gaffney, SC; if you ever come up this way and are looking for routes, happy to drop you GPX file or, if time permits, take you for a tour of the area. Some great rural roads near me, and the mountains aren't that far!

Welcome Darren! Hope you are enjoying the GSA. Not sure what color Kalamata is so perhaps you could post a pic or two so that we can decide for ourselves whether or not Kalamata is truly the best color.

Welcome. I’m up in Landrum and ride the Mtns regularly. Retired Marine. Would be happy to link up and ride if interested.

Hello Marv in SC from the Tennessee River valley of North Alabama!
Did U just retire from Ft Jackson and decide to stay put, or do ya have relatives in that Zipcode? We too are retired Military, and the Lord sent us to Huntsville when we won an online auction for a nice home near Redstone Arsenal! :nod I spent four years working the flightline at Myrtle Beach AFB as a young avionics mechanic [bought my '75 R90S when stationed there]. My bride enjoyed her '09 F650GS when it arrived in our garage; she sold it a couple years ago with 170,000 miles on the odo! I'm sure you guys will have a lot of fun ADVentures on your dual-sport BMWs! :thumb
Look us up when you go X-country to visit Leeds, AL, and the world's best Vintage Motorsports Museum.
We'll be at the BMW Motorad sponsored Vintage Festival in Oktober. :beer
