Has anyone ridden in Scotland?

My best riding buddy is retiring next year and to celebrate we want to go on a European trip with a group of about ten of our friends. My friend and I have done the Austrian Alps, Italian Dolomites, and the Adriatic coast. Our group will be a mixture of skills so we want something interesting but not something that will overwhelm the lesser skilled guys.
I want Scotland! I’ve always been attracted to the geography and history of the region. Did I mention single malt? If you’ve been, and liked it, give me the ammo to convince the others. Some are afraid of the weather. Rain is not a bother for me.

I rented a Kawasaki 650 Versys from Kirckaldy Kawasaki and rode the NC500++ in 2022. I had one day of rain..but it was +6c…and it rained from Ullapool to Durness. I wore Klim Latitude with Smartwool baselayers and was fine.
I’ve been to Scotland 4 times - the other 3 times were in a rental car with my wife. I would go back to Scotland at the drop of a hat.

Yes, did the Highlands 2-up in 2014, flew into Edinburgh and rented from here, would not hesitate to use them again:

A suggestion: if you're planning on any sightseeing before or after the riding portion of your trip, I'd suggest doing it before. That way, if the airline has any "issues" with your checked gear, you've got time to fix the problem before the riding begins.

We loved Scotland, great riding and hospitality.

Have a safe, fun time!

BTW- John O'Groats is where they started in "Long Way Down".

Three years after "Long Way Round," Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman set off on a 15,000-mile journey from the northernmost tip of Scotland to the southernmost tip of South Africa, mixing their love of motorcycles with the lure of far-flung roads.
