Hello everyone, I reluctantly sold my R60/5 LWB 24 years ago and always missed it. Rode V-Star's here and there (gotta have a shaft drive) but always wanted to get another Beemer. Last month I picked up this 2000 R1100RT (non running) and happily joined the MOA.

Welcome back to the premier BMW M/C club, Jeff, after quite a Lengthy Hiatus.
Guess U know your way around an old Boxer; hope it’s now worthy of a long road test to the International BMW Rally in Lebanon in just three weeks [but you’re probably an experienced old camper at heart from all those years ago]. Hope your investment in a now vintage Beemer works out in your favor. :nod

Welcome jpollack196308824! Thanks for the pic. Just how big of a project are you looking at?
Thanks for asking, the previous owner said it was running and then had it stored in a barn for 2 years. He was starting to go over it get it back on the road but he has too many projects, not enough time. Very nice guy. He had been watching alot of Chris Harris's videos and did his reasearch beacuse he gave me a lot of new parts necessary for this model and its specific wants. (new cam chain tensioner, alternator belt and pulley, Tech Illusion module already installed, etc. ) I installed a new battery and she turns over and tried to fire a few times. I checked the fuel and it was n/g. So I removed the tank and all the goodies to get all the crappy fuel out. Replaced the fuel filter and the $68 u shaped hose (found a hack for that, $19 amazon , gonna post an oilhead tip for that). I'm taking my time to get to know her, get her running and go from there.
