After valve adj (.010 in, .014 ex), new plugs (AC Delco), tranny oil (Royal Purple MaxGear 75W-90), final drive oil (same), brake fluid flush, rear brake lever re-lube, side stand re-lube, clutch cable lube, new fuel filter, TB sync, wash, wax, polish all metal etc etc *I* decided I had enough energy to tackle the sticking starter. It would drag once the engine started.

Easy off, easy disassembly. Cleaned the spiral gear, bushings and the over-running clutch thingy. Used Lubri Plate as grease and poured a little oil down into the over-running clutch.

No more dragging starter :drink

Not sure if it will last but is worth a try...
