Has anybody ever installed footpeg tensioning spring on either clutch or brake side of 1150RT (or any other BMW for that matter). The tensioning spring is what allows the peg to stay in place until peg touches ground and then allows it to swing backward. I recently broke a peg and, in trying to install a new one, which includes tensioning spring and a bushing which fits inside the spring, I simply cannot get the bushing to fit in the spring. I suspect there is some "trick" to this that is just not obvious to me (nothing mechanical ever is). It will work without the bushing inserted, but it is not correct and I worry that I will somehow shear the spring without the bushing in place. This is a one-of-a-kind question...but hopefully somebody will have experienced this maddening problem and have an answer for me. Thanks in advance.
