I recall back in 2014 I was in the local Toyota store and they had this 2013 R1200GSW with 360 miles. Generally car dealerships don't want motorcycles so if they do take one they have under trade in value invested. I offered what I felt was a fair price and was all but laughed at saying "this is a very special motorcycle and rather than discount it Andy (the owner of the dealership) will keep it himself." LOL well 7 years has gone by and Andy still has it! Hopefully if you buy it for $15K Andy will put a new battery in it!

And, as I have posted before - dealers use the NADA book to buy and the KBB to sell, here is why

From NADA

This thread probably gave the dealership the most “free” advertising they have ever received.......

I am that guy who runs the AC in the car a few times in the winter to lube the seals in the AC unit.
Excellent suggestion. Most of the newer vehicles seem to cycle through the A/C upon first bringing the vehicle climate control- whether one realizes it or not.

Even with the low miles it will need some work, tires for certain. I was surprised it doesn't have any more miles on it than it did when the OP first saw it. It has been sitting for seven years, what else could go wrong from sitting that long?

I'm guessing nothing has been done with the gas and brake fluid in the last eight years.

You seem pretty obsessed with that bike and that crazy owner:eat

I have NO interest in the 2013 GS.....

I don't know but probably a good guess.

He is a car dealer. Used car prices are up almost 50% over last year. "Why not a bike"? he thinks.

You're probably right, Paul.

But seriously, have any of you known of a car lot having a used car or motorcycle sitting there unsold for 7 or 8 years?
