CLC Tire Pressures

HELLIOTT

New member
I've had a !200 CLC for about two weeks and have just over 1000 mile son it. I'd have more, but I still have a Harley FLHS that I also ride.

My question is about tire pressures. I check the pressure in the Harley about once a weeka nd almost never add air. I've been checking the BMW everly two or three days (it's new) and hav ehad to add two or three pounds every time. I'm running 39 front and 40 rear because I do a lot of two-up or heavily-loaded riding.

Anyone have the same problem or any suggestions?

Tire pressure

Thanks, Mr. Frank. I took it in to my dealer, yesterday, and they put a new valve stem in the front tire. I'll be checking to see if that fixes things.

does your harley have spoke wheels?
my K75 needed topped off anytime it sat 3+ days for the 17 years i owned it, and had changed tires many times, concluded it's in the WHEELS.
my new GS never needs air, except for the 1-2 lbs. you let out putting the guage on to find out you shouldn't have bothered.

Harley wheels

No problem with the Harley tire pressure, Jerry. I almost never have to add air. Just FYI, though, it does have spoke wheels.

Too keep the air pressure correct in my RT I had to check it every other day at least. Riding the GS on the same roads and weather conditions it is good for a week or two before I check the tire pressures. Wondered if it had something to do with the cast vs. spoke wheel construction?

Since the new valve, I'm only losing enough to have to add air about every third day in the front and every fourth or fifth day in the rear.
