BMW Factory Handlebar Risers

I have a dealer telling me the optional handlebar risers (which can be factory ordered on newly shipped R1250GS for $120.00) in 2023, are not your typical stand alone risers, but are cast as a one piece part of the handlebar holder. Can anyone tell me if that is true? If you purchased a new R1250GS with optional handlebar risers on listing sheet, were they a one piece handlebar holder with risers cast into it or the typical two piece add on risers from BMW?

That part number— 31 4 21 541 247— does not snow up in the online parts fiches.

If you’re unsure, know that there are numerous aftermarket suppliers who furnish top-quality risers that allow a return to OEM if desired.

Best,
DeVern

I don't think I'd want that if it's true. I like being able to return back to OEM if I want.

Well, it would be OEM since it is an option from the factory. I find it hard to believe BMW would have such an option, one that requires a totally different casting, especially if they’re only charging $120.00 for it. Which is close to the same price their standard 30mm risers cost.

Yes, I showed the parts and number above. What I’m trying to determine goes back to my original question. Is the orderable option from the factory actually cast into the handlebar holder (top piece of traditional triple clamp). I think not, but dealer says it is.

I was speaking with my local dealer a while back and he said the same thing you're reporting, but I have no independent confirmation of it.

Dealer now informs me the only handlebar risers from BMW are the typical two piece product. There is no optional riser casting. They said risers are sometimes in crate and dealership mounts them. Not sure what happened in this case. So I will be getting a credit card refund for not getting them. All turned out well.
