After a bit of a health scare, I finally got cleared for 2 wheels (mostly my wife that was the hard liner, the docs said I was good many months ago). So I looked around locally and picked up a '99 R1100R that needs a little work and a LOT of cleaning. I also have a mothballed R60/2 ... but that's not on the road quite yet. This led to me me renewing my membership, and opting for the digital only version.

When I first joined over 30 years ago (#64178) I was living in Maine. The season was short, and the number of fellow riders was few. Now we're here in the beautiful Upstate of South Carolina, and I find that there is no local MOA club? That kind of baffles me, but ... anybody else in/near Greenville that is up for some coffee & conversation (as the old Anonymous Book used to call it?

Welcome back, and back!! The main website page for Charted Clubs doesn't work at the moment, but an older Anonymous Book shows the Palmetto Club in Columbia. Of course the main MOA HQ is in Greer.

Welcome rowling123! Glad to hear you are back on the road (or soon to be). Pics of the machine in any condition are always appreciated.

Welcome back to the BMW Riding community, Rowling!

Hoping your R11R works well for U as 2025 progresses! I’d wager it’s much warmer and greener in SC that it is right now in Maine! :nod My olde paper Anonymous book lists 81 towns in SC [maybe many are in the eastern half], so if U can get your hands on the eAnonymous book that might help U to connect with someone in your area. Go introduce yourself at the MOA Head Shed; they’re lend you a copy fer sure.

Have fun resurrecting your skillset and then maybe drop by Lebanon, TN in June. I know many AlaBeemers will be there working & socializing along the main thoroughfare...

Welcome back from Anderson County SC. The Palmetto Club doesn't seem to do much up our way, seems they do more towards the coast, I've sent a few emails regarding some events but never had a reply back, so not sure what going on with them.

Howdy! Yeah, when I first moved to Greenville in '14 there was a club called the Coneheads? Conebutts? something like that. Anywho, now I don't see any sign of them still existing. I was thinking about getting some riders together to charter a new Upstate club actually ... I think it takes 10 members?
