another gasket/sealant question

I am replacing the big seal in the final drive. While I have it apart I need to replace the big gasket. Do I need to use the gasket? The gasket and yamabond or similar sealant...or just sealant? Thanks again.

If you mean the big paper gasket, you only need to replace it if it tears (mine did). No sealant necessary.

Get a new gasket, make shure both surfaces are clean, no glue, 14 to 16 ft. lbs. torque on the nuts. Wrap some plastic electrical tape around the splines so you don't damage the seal when you install the cover.
