2025 R1300GS Issues?

I'm considering the new R1300GS. I'm looking for any feedback from owners of the bike on any issues that have come up after riding it for a year? Thank you.

Ironically my 25 1300GS is up for sale but has been a great bike and have had no issues at 10850 miles. (I did do a Brentune I & II as it had the almost usual BMW flat spot at 5-6k).

Do the 13's have the same issue with the driveshaft of the recent 1250s.

The R1300GS driveshaft isn't the same as the R1250GS. The deflection angle isn't as great on the 1300 and the universal joint is larger. Additionally, I believe the replacement interval is now at 48k instead of 36k with the 1250.

Also worth mentioning are the reasons for that recall, which reportedly only happened on heavily abused GSs, and Police RTs. The main factor was 'catching air', where the brutal shock when landing, could damage/break the shaft. The recall involved some king of ECU reprogramming. So the chances of anything happening to an R, RS, or RT shaft that is not abused, are minimal IMO. Plus BMW gave all 1200 and 1250 LC owners (up to MY 2023) free shaft replacements every 36K miles, for piece of mind, as an FYI. Starting with MY 2024, BMW included replacing the shaft every 36K in the maintenance schedule, so '24+ bikes are not covered anymore. Hope this helps.

I have a 2024 GSA and I've checked the maintenance schedule in my Owners Manual and it does not list cardan/driveshaft replacement anywhere (and not at 36,000Miles). Where is this requirement stated?

So, the Service Bulletin BMW Service Bulletin 33 04 23 says, "The replacement check and re-grease of the cardan shaft (driveshaft) is covered by warranty and is offered to all customers that own a K5x motorcycle model year 2024 and older and unlimited miles or general service behavior of the customer". To me, it seems that all 1200 and 1250's (including 2024's) are covered.

It has to say somewhere. Did you check your maintenance manual? It should be there. The TSB is pretty clear 2024 bikes are NOT included. I'm attaching it, so you can read for yourself. It says since 'Oct 23', and at the end of page 1, it quite clearly excludes all 2024+ bikes. Sorry for the bad news. Hope this helps.

That's the original (Dec 2023) Bulletin. The one I provided the link for is the updated one (Aug 2024). The newer version says
"What’s New:
Model year for warranty approved work changed from 2023 to 2024"

So, I'd read that as saying 2024's were covered too.

Hey, that's great news then. Guess to make it easier for dealers? Now all 1250s seem to be included. Glad to hear. Just make a copy to show to your dealer; it should honor it. Take care.

I think I have around 10000 trouble free miles on my 2025 GSA. It's a great bike and while the 1250 was a good bike the 1300 is a better bike in every way and I have zero regrets trading in my 2020 1250 GSA for my 1300 GSA.
