1994 R1100RS convert to bench (1-piece) seat

My R1100RS Beta has the standard factory 2-piece adjustable seat. I just scored a one-piece Corbin off a '96 on eBay, and I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with mounting a bench seat like this on a bike that was originally equipped with the 2-piece seat.

I see there are different brackets available for the bench seat on Max BMW, but they are $50 apiece. If I have to I'd rather fabricate something at that rate. Curious if I can mount it using or modifying the existing brackets.

Pics of the seat, and mounted on an RS:

1/4" nylon spacers mounted under the latch mechanism should elevate the latch to the proper height to enable engagement of the hasp. In addition, you might need some longer latch mechanism mounting bolts.

When I owned one of these seats, I contacted Corbin about the issue and they never replied.

Voni had a European single seat that came with a bike she bought. As far as we know it was a BMW OEM option in Europe and maybe Canada. Since she liked to vary the seat height on trips, and this seat only fit the high position she didn't use it much. But we didn't need to change any hardware to go from it to the two piece seat set.

Excellent, thanks! I only use the top position, as it happens, so that's perfect. Appreciate the replies.

The corbin seat has a great feel, relative to foam density, but sits at a height corresponding to "medium" for the stock seat. It was too low for me.
