03-k1200rs lazy with z-technic pipe&chip

I own a 03-K1200rs and installed a Z-technic muffler and computer chip when the bike was purchased in 04.The bike is sluggish and has no pep at low rpm.
During deceleration the muffler gives a series of blarings pops.
The bike has 10k miles and has been exceptionally maintained at my local BMW
dealer.there are no code faults. One tech hinted that the bike's lazy performance may be due to the older
version "04"of the z-technic computer chip and that the newer updated computer
chip would solve the problem.

lethargic '03'k1200rs with Ztechnik pipe&chip

Thanks for your inquiry-I certainly need all the help I can get in resolving this difficult problem.
Now, to your question-I noticed the lethargic performance of the bike on 7/8/04 the
very first day I rode it home - I didn't think much of it, but before long I started riding other motorcycles and was able to compare acceleration response, throttle smoothness and overall snappiness at relatively low rpm.

The pops to me indicate either an exhaust leak, or a mixture problem. If there are no leaks, then mixture would seem to be where you might look. Have you tried contacting ZTechnic and seeing if they have any suggestions?
