1977 R100/7 "scrambler" in Seattle. Know it?

Hey- I'm in Michigan and my son lives in the eastern Sierra in California. He has decided his Beemer "lacks soul" and wants an airhead. He's chatted with a guy in Seattle who has a bike listed on Craigslist. I've owned airheads for the many years and talked with the fellow too. He seems...

If anyone has some experience with this issue, I am looking for someone who can rebuild the transmission with this specific problem in mind. Background: From 2010-2012 I completely restored a R100/7 and documented the entire process here on the forum. An awesome experience, but at the end, I...

    '78 R100/7 points

I have heard that there are imposter points floating around. Is there a way, or are there any for sure identifying marks on the genuine Bosch/BMW point sets? How can one know if he/she has the factory ones? Are the factory ones still available or do the normal BMW parts places (Bob's...

    1978 R100/7 Topend Overhaul

Well, I guess it's my time in the barrel!! I'm looking at going to Salem and have over 100K on the clock. Have been getting somewhat worried about the valves and have had some pinging off and on. So, out with Oak's manual and we're off! Things have gone fairly well. I have not had the...

    Frame damage...

The frame is from a 77 R100RS and is unique in that regard. A good replacement frame with paper is a couple hundred but destroys the authenticity which happens now and then...I can get a 77 factory fresh frame NOS that has no numbers. Don't want to give up without looking at all options.

I have 200+ pictures and counting, for any of you who are tearing one of these things down as well. Trying to ensure I document as many parts/pieces as possible to ensure I can get the bike back together, and hopefully to help others with thier restoration projects...
