Hi, I've searched several times, can't seem to find any info here (I have found lots elsewhere) - what weight/brand fork oil do you use for your (SWB) /5? My forks have standard springs and had been rebuilt a few years ago. Would synthetic work? And do you change it once a year? I just did all... -

I was just up at the dealer getting a new front tire mounted. Since I'm doing a lot on the front end, including a brake fluid bleed, I thought I'd change the fork oil. I've always run BMWs 7.5w in the past. When I asked for a bottle, they brought out 10w. Hmmm...I think that's going to be... -

Bad to switch from synthetic to mineral fork oil at Drain and Fill?
I'm reluctant to even start this conversation, but I've found nothing by searching. I have an '89 R100GS that is overdue for a fork oil change. The last time I changed it, I used Silkolene 7.5, and liked it. I have an unopened bottle of Belray 7 on the shelf, and thought about using it. But...
