Anyone interested in chasing this some weekend.
Should make for a nice day ride!
Plenty of photo ops in some really interesting scenery changes!

More of flower sniffer than a Beer run... So to speak...

A+D on the map is Zeke's in Gold Bar... B is Cayuse Pass... White dot is the image (approx) below...
C is Leavonworth... B'fast/Lunch can be anywhere... Perhaps L'worth? Zekes?

Meet in Gold Bar... ? Zeke's is a good 'staging' area.

Done that loop once or twice! It IS beautiful.

But skip 97 from Yakima. At Wenas, head up Wenas Rd and take it to just north of Selah, then head up Yakima Canyon to E-burg.

And you may want to check on Tumwater Canyon (US 2 w/o Leavenworth). They are re-doing the pavement. 10 miles of grooved pavement about 3 weeks ago. They might be done by now..... if not, head up the Chumstick to Lake Wenatchee then w/b back to US 2.

Yeah... That canyon is great... (image)

When I linked to the Map, Google saw fit to 'uncheck' the avoid highway box. I fixed it.

It also had me using I-405 on the West leg of the loop.
Ummm... Nah.

Oh yeah, I forgot. The Green River Bridge between Black Diamond and Krain is closed. The posted detour is Auburn-Black Diamond Rd, 218th, 212th, SE 400th and back to 169. And you pass by Krain Corner restaurant...we have our monthly Guzzi meetings there.......yummy......

Or you can pass the detour, go into Green River make a left at the Cenex (Lawson St). It changes names a few times, but just after you cross the river, take the Enumclaw Franklin Rd back to 169. This route is much nicer, but the last stretch of road is a bit lumpy.

That's a great loop ride, used to do that on my Duc when we lived on the East Hill in Kent....lot of fun roads.

I'm planning sometime this summer to do a somewhat large Washington Loop. Seabeck to Neah Bay, Ilwaco, Asotin, Metaline Falls, then the North Cascades highway towards home base.... That might take more than a day...

:lurk

Cheers :drink BJ

LOL!!! Did the "Five Corners" tour of WA on our Honda Rebels two years ago. Wants to hit the five corners of the state without leaving the state and without being on any freeways. Started in Wenatchee, Hwy 20 to Blaine, then Neah Bay, 101 to Ilwaco, 14 and 12 to Anatone, 195 & 395 to Metaline Falls, then back to Wenatchee. Overnighted in Port Angeles, Kalama, and Clarkston (owner of the hotel rides a BMW). Just over 1700 miles.

Ad to the OP, US 2 through Tumwater Canyon is finished. Nice, smooth new pavement.

There were more back roads in there, but too many to list.

That's what's great about WA State...
You can go from Coastal Rain Forest to High Desert in half a day with everything in between.
I could spend a month out there and not be on the same road.
That's why I like loop rides...
No reason to have to back track.

Another great thing about WA state....you can easily go to Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho and Montana in a days ride! Heck, you can even go to a foreign country, eh?
