I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say your 'shuffle' is 'all tracks - alphabetical'. :stick

Today:

1) Roll Over Beethoven (Take 1) - Electric Light Orchestra
2) I Can't Take It - Badfinger Live at the BBC
3) All The Way From Memphis - Ian Hunter-Mick Ronson Band
4) Harvester Of Eyes - Blue ?ûyster Cult
5) Name Of The Game - Badfinger (same - leading me to wonder how 'random' my shuffle is)
6) (Don't Fear) The Reaper - B.?û.C.
7) Every Day Is A Winding Road - Sheryl Crow
8) Words - The Bee Gees
9) Bolero - (Jim Steinmann intro to 1978 Meatloaf concert in Cleveland)
10) New York Mining Disaster 1941 - The Bee Gees

Randomness

Interesting.
In my desktop MP3 player (winamp) there is a setting available that determines the amount of "randomness" (how much the player might deviate from the original playlist).
Got something like that on your Palm?

Not on this one, using Pocket Tunes. My old Garmin's player would arrange (alphabetically) by song title or by artist and maybe one other criteria I don't remember right now. Alphabetical song titles does give you a fairly good 'random' mix, if you think about it.

Today's ten:

1) Holiday - Nazareth (will not be followed by another Nazareth tune since I have none!)
2) Happy Together - The Turtles
3) Foreplay - Boston (live in Cleveland)
4) Day After Day - Badfinger at the BBC
5) The Real Me - The Who (Chicago bootleg 1979)
6) 10538 Overture - ELO
7) Evil Woman - ELO :bluduh
8) Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Warren Zevon
9) It Ain't Me Babe - The Turtles (Whoa! Two Dylan covers in a row! :nod )
10) Play On - The Raspberries

my antique 2GB IPODs first ten today...It wanders all over my collection

1) Love You Out Loud- Rascal Flatts
2) Mr Roboto-Styx

8) China Grove-Doobie Bros
9) It's the End of the World-R.E.M
10) Route 66- Asleep at the Wheel

I'm having a flash-back. Wasn't Andrew Loog Oldham the manager for the Stones in the 60's. 64 or 65 I think.

63-67 or so, check out the first part of his autobiography "stoned" it's really good stuff. part II, not so much.

he's got a show on sirius ch 25 as well.

The Spice of Life

Love the variety in folks' mixes. I've been a big fan of shuffling songs since mix tapes. Anyhow, today the tracks playing on my iPod Shuffle on the ride to work were great. I don't have a tracklist since the thing is a Shuffle. However, I did just listen to a great set based on Help You Ann by the Lyres. Here are the first ten songs:

Help You Ann: The Lyres
She Pays the Rent: The Lyres
Bad News Travels Fast: Fuzztones
This Damn Nation: The Godfathers
Busy Man: DMZ
Pattern Skies: The Greenhornes
Teenage Depression: Eddie and the Hot Rods
Final Solution: Pere Ubu
How Do You Know?: The Lyres
Mannequin: Wire

Gotta say, ain't technology grand? Now to set a new mix for the afternoon...

Gotta like a guy who's got a playlist with DMZ, Pere Ubu and Wire within 10 songs of each other :thumb choice!

This is a hot release just out today....
