The Road to Wisconsin

I had a blast this summer on my way to and from my first national rally. Here are just a few of my favorites, some of which you've seen before. . . .

Furthest east I'd every been on a bike to that point, and first time in this state.

Nice shot!

Say I think I have a poem writen just for you (well not really for you but..)
called appropriately The Escape Artist. lets see......
its in here somewhere.....Oh, here it is.
It was one of the first that I wrote when I got back into writing in 99

THE ESCAPE ARTIST

Wrapped up in chains,
And locked in a box;
And dropped in the River,
His existence forgot.

For years it just lay there,
As the silt piled round.
He just sat in his box,
In a world without sound.

Up above in the light,
The world carried on.
While he sat in his box,
They forgot he was gone.

The once famous artist,
Now so quiet and still.
He just sat in his box,
In the water so chill.

Then many years later,
When by accident found;
The box was retrieved,
Returned to dry ground.

The wood, mostly rotted,
Simply turned into dust.
Inside, naught but chains,
All covered with rust.

Of the once famous artist,
Not a clue did remain.
They remained unaware,
Of his sorrow and pain.

As so often happens,
With any great art.
The creator’s forgotten,
Until they depart.

Who is that handsome devil on the mighty K bike? I hope you saved all of our rustic road adventure shots as my computer ate all of mine. If it wasn't for all the snow piled in front of the carraige house door, i'd be tempted to strike out for a bit this afternoon.
