Nice riding weather here this week.

From the Droid phone, a quick ride prior to the snow that is falling today. Thick cottonwoods alongside the banks of the North Fork of the South Platte crowd into the pic...

Then looked to the right and thought, "why not"...

I try to start out each new year with a ride. This year the first ride was on the vintage bike.

Chilly temperatures kept the size of the contingent for our annual Death Valley ride down to about a dozen hardy souls. Low 30s leaving Las Vegas but warming nicely to 50 degrees as we approached sea level. No better way to start a New Year than a ride with friends. Furnace Creek, Death Valley 01-01-13.jpg

With Dan at Kerr Dam

Rode down to the Lake Gaston/Kerr Lake area near the Virginia-North Carolina state line today. Tugboat Dan was built in 1937 and spent some of her years in service on Kerr Lake. She was retired in 1992. The /5 has another 14 years to go to match the 55 years Dan was in operation.
