First and foremost.
I don't care where the 2022 Rally is going to be.
But I need to know the dates.
I have to forecast my vacation dates this far out.
Is anyone able to tell me the dates?
No guesses please, no request for this or that dates please.
Just tell me the dates, if your allowed.
Thanks

David

As good as it gets barring national disfunction I suppose!

Now I have to start figuring out what bike to ride and how long is it going to take me to ride 4600 km's to get there?

A point of order sir. I grew up in central Illinois (Chanute Air Force, Base Rantoul). Comparatively, everywhere on the face of the planet is a riding improvement.

I don’t know if the “riding” was 212’s concern.

But Annually I find it necessary...
to traverse central IL.

I scurry across.

I am very thankful my parents left central Illinois, Jacksonville, and wound up in Newfoundland.

Riding

I enjoy riding and it does not matter where I am, some roads are more enjoyable than others. I don’t go to the rally to ride during the rally, I go to meet people, see what venders have to offer and to just have fun at the rally. ( doing volunteer work at rally lots of fun )
My birth certificate states that I also was born in Jacksonville, Illinois but what ever trauma I suffered did not lead me to move to Canada :)
In the spring of 1970 I graduated from high school ( some say I was escorted from the building) and had the choice of attending college near Chanute AFB, or a stint in the military, several times we left campus and went on some local roads near the base to watch the trainees rush to burning planes and extinguish large fires, we were even more impressed with the servicemen on days when we could not finish our beers before they got warm while watching.:usa
Close to Springfield, MO. Lots of nice roads, several rivers offering fun float trips and fishing.
I have a niece who lives near and works at Fort Leonard Wood a very convenient 1/2 way point between my house and Springfield, Mo. ( yes it’s a multi day trip because I44 does really suck enough that I would happily turn a 256 mile trip into a 2 day odyssey
Finally if I became lost near Branson, MO. I might end up near Sight and Sound Theater get sucked in and saved.

There are lots of worse things that happen to those that are lost. Their shows are well worth the price of admission.

Sunday Traffic

After the rally on Sunday we will have to deal with Father’s Day traffic on the way home:banghead

I didn't know you were at Chanute. I was there as a kid - 82-87.

Yeppers... 82/83 my parents relocated to a farm house in Loda. I graduated from Paxton high school in 85.

Got to Chanute in ‘75, I was 8 years old in 3rd grade. We lived in a trailer in the trailer court, we were on 14tb street.

Good memories of Rabbit hill in the winter, and the slots and wings (I think it was called) hobby shop, out the gate on the right. If you ever went to the commissary while you were there, I was one of the grocery baggers... the tall lanky kid with blond curly hair.
