Today, in heavy stop & go traffic for hours, inland Florida at 85-87F temps, I monitored the RT's dipstick thermometer. When moving at 30 MPH or more, for even a few minutes, oil temp would drop to 230-240F. But when sitting still for several minutes, it would go up to 250. So it seems the cylinder fins and oil cooler are doing their jobs, but air movement is critical. Pretty sure in the desert, at 100+ and sitting still, temps would hit 270. I don't recall much traffic in the desert when I last lived there 20+ years ago, but times are changing, especially in metropolises like Vegas and Phoenix. Still, I don't foresee a problem with Airheads, bc the rider is likely to overheat first. LOL
