Friends and fellow XR enthusiasts, I need to pick your brain.
I recently bought a 2016 XR Premium with 6k miles. It was owned and maintained by a known, trusted, mature rider. He put Rizomo levers on the bike along with some choice upgrades like Clearwater lights, etc. Overall it’s a sweet ride in fantastic shape.
When downshifting from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd I notice a significant unnerving feedback when releasing the clutch lever. It’s like the lever hits a bump in its play. The best way to describe the feeling is “notchy.” Shifting up is smooth as silk. It only happens on downshifting.
I’ve owned and ridden many BMW bikes but this is the first one with the rev matching clutchless shift system. Yes, I still use the clutch lever....just suits me better.
Does anyone else get this feedback in the clutch lever? Is this normal for this type of bike? Any thoughtful insights or experience with this issue is greatly appreciated.
Yours,
M
