2011 R1200RT: Canbus controller options?

OK, so I have another thread regarding extra lights at the rear. https://forums.bmwmoa.org/showthread.php?99451-Any-better-tail-light-brake-light-options-for-R1200RT

That has taken me down the road of adding accessories to the bike generally, and the issues associated with it.
I found 3 CANBUS control interface units.
Are there others?

HEX EZCan

Denali

Cyclops

As far as true universal CANBUS controllers, in reality there may only be one, HEX EzCan. The Denali CANSMART is a rebranded HEX EzCAN with some slight software modifications and Denali specific light plugs included.

I believe Clearwater and Cyclops may have CANBUS compatible controllers for some of their lights, but I do not think (I could be wrong), that they have the capability to do as much, control other accessories and are as adaptable and programmable as the HEX or DENALI. HEX and DENALI allow for Aux Lights, Brake Lights, Horns, Accessories, etc. The others are for control of their lighting products.

As far as the word controller goes, that term may be somewhat misleading as these devices don't really control the CANBUS. In reality, they listen to the CANBUS and react to certain commands or signals sent across the CANBUS and perform functions based upon these signals and the programming of the device (ie, HEX EzCAN). They never actually control or use the CANBUS to control any accessories, they control the devices connected to them.

I use a HEX EZcan to control the lights on the camper I pull with my '18 RT. Simple to install, snaps right in line with the bike wiring with factory compatible connectors, no wire splicing. Easy to program with multiple options for tail light flashing duration and intensity. Time will tell how well things hold up.
